Hello!
a little bit about me:
My name is Allison (she/they). I was born and raised in Wisconsin Rapids and returned to the area in 2018 to be closer to my family. I'm a certified health coach and group fitness instructor who is eager to explore opportunities to serve my community as a Health and Wellness Promotion graduate. This fall I will be attending the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point where I will begin pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences.
I am a dog-mom, daughter, sister, partner, friend, and LGBTQ+ ally. I love to laugh and make others laugh. I'm a fair-weather camper, kayaker, and fishing buddy. I enjoy live music, old books, documentary films, and hula-hooping.

Personal Strengths

Input (Strategic Thinking)
This strength demonstrates my desire to deeply understand. I am curious, resourceful, and an attuned listener. As a wellness professional, this strength will help me establish trust, build rapport, and engage clients as they explore their own strengths, values, experiences, and perceptions.

Learner (Strategic Thinking)
This strength demonstrates my desire to learn and continuously improve. Whether I am learning about a new practice or meeting a new client, learning opportunities motivate me to strengthen my knowledge and expand upon my experiences.

Intellection (Strategic Thinking)
This strength demonstrates my appreciation for individuals who think differently than I do because they challenge me and provide me with an opportunity to consider perspectives and experiences that are different from my own. This can be helpful in working with clients who have not been challenged to explain their thinking or reasoning. If they’ve not been challenged, what would prompt them to consider making any changes?
Empathy
Empathy demonstrates respect for an individual’s capacity to show vulnerability. Lifestyle and health behavior changes can bring up deep feelings of shame, regret, and fear of judgment. As a wellness professional this strength will allow me to hold a space where individuals feel respected, safe, and supported as they explore more deeper and difficult emotions related to their life experience and the present moment.

Achiever (Executing)
This strength demonstrates my commitment to doing the work, even when it is difficult. I am persistent and open to trying new approaches. Health and wellness coaching is a collaborative partnership. There is no "I" in teamwork.
